There is a significant difference between the SS and brass editions. My take on it is that the SS is more technical and intense while the brass is more laidback with a tonality that I think will be enjoyed by more people at the cost of sheer definition. My personal favourite would be the SS, but both are very capable flagships.

I felt that the transients took a bit of hit in exchange for a more pleasing timbre/tone. I preferred the SS more or less due to the fact that the brass was too midbassy for me and the SS had a sub-bass focus. Separation was also a little fuzzy on the brass compared to the SS, but again the brass has a more natural decay and so better timbre. I tried them at the Jomo offices yesterday for a few hours but I'll see if I can get a loan so that I can get a more in-depth analysis of it all.

Conclusion :
The Trinity – to me – is an undeniable revelation. Since becoming a recording engineer and having my preferences shift towards timbral candor, I’ve abandoned the notion of sacrificing tone for detail – “Juvenile manhood-measuring contests!” I childishly thought. But, as any S$3800 flagship should, I’ve begun to question my creed. After long nights of work – as I lay Phantom and Layla to rest – I find myself giddy and agog; the Trinity calls with all its glorious flair. Track 1 plays and I instantly hear it: A middle-treble peak and a delicate lower-midrange. But alas, no wince! Neither a tick, nor a quiver nor a quail. “Who cares when you have all this detail?!” Because truly, this is what the Trinity reliably achieves: A rival to Fourté with fewer compromise, a foil to Erlkonig at a fraction of the cost, and a challenger to both with a custom form. Will this romance last? Only time will tell. But until that fateful hour comes past, Trinity has me under its evil spell…

J'ai demandé à Deezel de comparer les TRINITY aux Zeus XIV :
I'd say the main differences would be in the midrange. The Zeus-XIV is has its vocals further forward, but more importantly, there's a more complete structure to them. Instruments sound more resonant, chesty and powerful because of a much thicker lower-midrange, while the Trinity creates drama through its transparency, definition and contrast between the treble and bass. I think with the Zeus-XIV, you certainly get a more just-you-and-the-singer sort of presentation, while the Trinity is more concert-hall-like where you're in the middle row. The bass is obviously different as well. In terms of quantity, the Trinity is probably just a hair above the Zeus, but it's mainly in sub-bass. The Zeus's bass is more even from sub- to upper-bass, so it's thicker in timbre, but lesser in quantity and - to me - quality as well. I remember the Zeus-XIV's transients as coming across more rounded because of the thick lower-midrange, while the Trinity is more crisp and airy by comparison. In staging, I think the Trinity performs better than the Zeus technically, but the some may prefer the Zeus's more in-the-room presentation. I'll let you know if I note any more differences when I compare the two in Singapore in a coupe weeks.

Wyville sur les Brass
If, based on my first impressions, I were to sum up the Trinity Brass in one word it would be "Soulful". I tried classical music and did not think that showed off the Trinity's strength very well (a little too warm), perhaps the SS version does that better, but then I switched to music by the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Sting (Live) and Santana... and then the Trinity started showing off their strengths; so warm, smooth and full of emotion. The bass is lush and detailed, reminding me in some ways of the Galaxy V2's bass (still need to do a proper comparison), the midrange is natural with clear vocals and the treble is really quite special; sweet, sparkly and incredibly natural sounding.

What strikes me about music such as Santana's Smooth is how coherent and well balanced everything is. There is some slight emphasis on the bass, but in a way that you might expect it at a live performance. Yet while the bass guitar is prominent, it does not harm the rest and sits in its own space. It is when you focus on Rob Thomas' voice and Santana's guitar that the bass starts to become more functional and the soundscape starts to take shape. The bass guitar adds a smooth and relaxed rhythm, percussions add energy and cymbals top off that energy with a wonderfully sweet sparkle, all surrounding the voice and guitar at the centre compelling you to move. Everything just feels like it is in exactly the right place to build up the emotion of the song and get you fully immersed in the music. It feels like standing right there with Rob and Santana, playing/singing along, rather than merely listening.

The same thing with the Rolling Stones' I can't quit you baby, where the emotion in Mick Jagger's voice is perfectly complimented by some of the best sounding guitar riffs to amp up the emotion of the song, giving it a tangible feel of melancholy. Moreover, it stays super nice and smooth so you can enjoy it all day long.

Comparaison de Wyville des Trinity Brass avec les EE Phantom :
I think it has a lot to do with preferences. I have a comparison to the Phantom included in my review of the Trinity and my conclusion there is that it depends a lot on the music you listen to. The Trinity certainly have the edge in stage dimensions, clarity, the texture in the bass is amazing, guitars sound phenomenal, but the Phantom have the edge in mid-range tonality, which I think is more natural, and more forward vocals. Listening to Santana's Smooth the Trinity are exceptionally good and make the Phantom sound almost subdued by comparison, but for classical music the Phantom have the edge in tonality.

So it depends on what you prioritise in sound quality. The Trinity are technically extremely capable and combine a warm and smooth sound with a very revealing nature and tons of detail and texture coming through. They have a huge stage and yet maintain excellent coherency. Those things certainly are no mean feat.

Comparaison de Wyville des basses des Trinity Brass avec les EE Legend X :
The Trinity's bass certainly has some of the physicality and texture of Legend X. At least, that was what I thought the first time I heard the Trinity, but by that time I did not have Legend X around anymore. The Trinity do not push it quite as far as Legend X though and the overall signature is different. Again, I have not compared them back to back, and it is mostly based on the fact that I gravitated towards different types of music. With the Trinity I mostly listened to blues, jazz, that type of music (I called them "soulful" IEMs) and with Legend X I did not have specific preferences, although I admit that listening to classical music was a little silly. :D

Conclusion :
I have greatly enjoyed my time with the Jomo Trinity and consider them the most soulful and engaging IEMs I have heard to date. They are warm and smooth, with a very large and airy stage, lots of details and a very revealing nature. Moreover, the Trinity have an infection energy that will give you the feeling like you are right there on stage performing with the band. If you have an opportunity to demo these, please do yourself a favor and listen to Santana’s Smooth and I will guarantee you that you will feel like you are standing right next to Santana with your very own air guitar.

Retour sur Head-Fi de xmr0613 :
Just got to borrow my colleague's new Jomo Trinity SS today, tried for quite a few hours and compared intensively with my KSE1500. For those of you who are interested in the comparison of them:

Trinity SS is much more organic and textured in bass region, the decay is slower and the impact is much bigger than the faster and lighter presentation of KSE. This is an obvious DD bass, even reminded me of the bass of Legend X at times(obviously not as much volume, but Trinity's bass in general is not light at all).
Vocal is relatively recessed, at least comparing to the KSE, great amount of details in this region though. At times I feel singers are further away from me, for both male and female vocals, and there's also this added "breathiness" that's hard to describe.
Treble is extremely detailed and well defined, but surprisingly, not as "bright and peaky" as I would imagine for an IEM with dual est tweeters. Actually the KSE is much brighter than the Trinity SS. I do tend to agree with Crin's impression that the Trinity SS lacks some of the treble extension at the very top.
In general I feel the Trinity SS version is warm to slightly V-shape, if I take Prophile 8 as "neutral" and KSE1500 as "bright".

In terms of technical performance, honestly it's too hard to call. Despite being less "bright" than the KSE, the Trinity is every bit as detailed, and that's probably the first IEM that makes me feel this way. Due to the higher energy at treble region, KSE does sound a little more "transparent" to me, but I don't hear either pair has clear edge in resolution or speed over the other here.

Nouveau retour de Deezel :
As I've mentioned several times in the past, Jomo Audio's Trinity is one of the most technically-proficient IEMs I'd heard to date. Now, how it makes this list rather than a Tia Fourté for example, is how little tonal accuracy it sacrifices to achieve that quality. It's a three-headed beast and each head provides its own nugget to savour. The dynamic bass on the SS is visceral and authoritative, but never gets in the way. The bass on the Brass (which I just received on loan yesterday) is unabashedly warm, guttural and a pure joy to listen to. The lower-mids on the SS may leave some to be desired, but both variants sport excellent coherence and balance overall nonetheless. In addition, perfect amounts of compactness and forwardness ensure a consistent signature throughout. And, the electrostatic treble is something special to my ears. It possesses excellent spatial performance, effortless imaging and clarity to spare. Again, it's a very expensive IEM that may appeal to some audiences more than others. But, it's a favourite in my book nonetheless; a clear standard to beat.

Retours du meeting de l'ambassadeur :

- Jomo Trinity

J'aime : cohérence global, medium & aigus détaillés/riche/dense, impact du grave

Neutre : vitesse grave, soundstage/layering

J'aime pas : quantité de grave/sub too much pour moi qui me fait focaliser sur ce registre plutôt que le reste

Je recommande pour tous les registres acoustiques (voix, folk, jazz, classique, etc...) où ils sont vraiment bluffants

Je ne recommande pas sur rock/métal où le grave est trop prédominant

- les Jomo Trinity : hummmm... je ne sais pas. Le type même d'écoute qu'il faudrait laisser infuser (pas le temps  :'( ). Comme cela à brûle pourpoint, j'entends le bas... beaucoup (à la manière des Flamenco boostés), je trouve les médium un peu en retrait, et le haut très bon mais bousculant mes habitudes d'écoutes liées aux armatures  (qui sont, qu'ont le veuille ou non, typées). Pas conquis mais pas non plus désintéressé. Typiquement des intras que je voudrais passer au tips rolling par exemple  :p

Ensuite les Trinity, contrairement à certains je n’ai pas entendu que le bas mais j’avais les embouts silicone Custom Art conçu pour les Solaris mais qui fittent les grosses canules sans problème Les basses sont magnifiques pleines, texturées un bon équilibre avec pas mal de mid bass donc ça thump! bien mais ça reste pour moi équilibré. Comme relevé par certains, les médiums sont la partie qui m’a le moins conquis, en retrait et grosso modo l’impression d’une signature en V. En haut c’est très aérien avec une prédominance du haut des aigus, le bas aigu n’est pas aussi vif que ce à quoi je m’attendais, de ce point de vue les Solaris sont plus vivants. Mais en haut c’est ultra aérien, l’extension semble sans limite.... pas ma came au global mais c’est très bon et cohérent et ça mériterai plus de temps. Je préfère à priori les Flamenco...

J'ai testé les Trinity (ma came très clairement, une impressionnante résolution du jeu de la batterie moi qui suis extrêmement attentif à cet instrument. Fit parfait. Intras dociles qui décrit la musique comme il se doit, bien moins enjôleur que les Vega qui rattrapent les mauvais enregistrements cela dit.

- Jomo Trinity : Evidemment qu'il fallait les tester ! Verdict : ils doivent s'apprécier sur la longueur. Perso, je n'ai pas été dérangé par les basses, la fluidité m'a vraiment marqué et il y a une très grande facilité d'écoute. Par contre, oserais-je l'écrire ?, il y a une trop grande facilité et par conséquent trop "lisse" dans le sens pas suffisamment agressif pour me plaire en 1ère écoute.

J'ai été bluffé par les JVC F10000. Il se passe vraiment quelque chose, notamment sur les médiums et les harmoniques. Un naturel et une ambiance qui nous implique vraiment. J''ai trouvé que les Flamenco et les Trinity étaient quand même plus ordonnées. Meilleur spatialisation et définition.

Sur les Trinity SS, un air de famille avec les Flamenco mais une vraie différence de signature. Étrangement, le travail de cohésion entre les drivers est sans doute l'un des meilleurs avec les VE8 que j'ai pu entendre. Il se passe quelque chose à ce niveau aussi de très spécial. Du coup c'est moins franc que les Flamenco mais sur la longueur je pense que ce sont d'excellents intras, plus naturel encore ce qui est gageure. Le travail sur les aigus est réel mais ne s'entend pas immédiatement. Il faudra comparer directement avec les Flamenco pour se rendre compte qu'ils sont beaucoup plus doux et permettent désormais de monter le potard sans jamais s'inquiéter là où les Flamenco pourraient avoir des pics. Enfin, l'image pour moi est aussi meilleure.

Les basses ne m'ont pas gênés du tout au contraire. Je les aient trouvées très pertinentes pour ma part : elles apparaissent lorsque nécessaire et savent se faire discrètent à l'occasion. Apparition des sub de temps à autre qui prennent au corps. Globalement, les Trinity vont plus loins que les Flamenco. Ces derniêres ont pour elles se côté caméléon/versatile qui reste musical sur tout type de musique.

Les Flamenco et Trinity sont aussi extraordinaires, mais que ce soit leur présentation ou le réalisme de la tonalité des instruments, ceux ci sont assez communs. Les Flamenco sont très très engageant sur les voix féminines, ça m'a beaucoup plu. Les Trinity m'ont paru avoir une scène sonore toute en profondeur, et j'aime quand c'est bien plus frontal, cela dit ce n'est peut être qu'un rendez-vous manqué.

Côté intra, j'ai essayé rapidement les trinity (oui y avait pas que moi qui voulait les écouter  (H) ). J'ai retrouvé la signature jomo avec ce côté spectaculaire, musical, enivrant, mais aussi plus mature, il en fait moins. Donc je pense plus équilibré mais on perd un peu si on aime les flamencos comme moi  :$

Je me suis retrouvé avec les Trinity à ma grande surprise, ils étaient très demandés. Un air de famille indéniable avec les Flamenco, la touch Jomo est là. Les Trinity sont moins spectaculaires que le Flamenco, plus dans le raffinement. La scène est profonde, dynamique supérieure, les basses sont excellentes autant sur la qualité que sur la quantité. Pour moi les Trinity sont plus réalistes que les Flamenco au niveau de la restitution, des timbres et de la scène. Les Flamenco proposant une écoute spectaculaire, un feu d'artifice de son.

Jomo Trinity
Excellente écoute, j'ai vraiment aimé car ils sont plus smooth, plus naturels que les Flamenco, qui, je trouve, en font trop.
J'ai trouvé la liaison entre les différentes techno de drivers bonne et sans accroche, on sent bien la puissance du DD dans les basses, peut être un chouilla trop pour moi et j'aurais aimé le bas du spectre un poil plus tight.
Après pour être franc, j'ai aimé les aigus parce qu'ils sont pas "in your face" je ne les ai pas trouvé écourtés pour autant, mais j'ai pas ressenti non plus un apport indéniable des drivers electrostat vs du BA classique bien tuné.
Un intra très musical avec juste un léger bémol sur la scène qui m'a semblé moins vaste que les Solaris ,mais suffisante
Le fit est superbe . J'adore. Mais c'est cher, trop cher (2500€ mini neuf)

Si ça s'avère, je pense que la version SS ira bien pour moi aussi. Je trouve ça plus consistant que d'avoir des switches (ou des modules dans certains cas) mal implémentés pour moi dans les Flamencos. Bon, et ils sont TRÈS beaux pour des uni !
