Conclusion
The TY Hi-Z 150S performs beyond its price and is able to compete with my flagship earbuds competently. This goes to show that higher impedance does not dictate the sound quality. To conclude, 150 is a bright sounding earbud with great sub-bass extension, transparent mids and organic treble.
"bright sounding earbud", pas pour moi...
Et "great sub-bass extension" / "a slight emphasis on the upper mids" : ça me rappelle les 400/400s, non ?
Et comparaison avec les 650 :
TY Hi-Z 150S vs TY Hi-Z 650
The 150S has a better extension than the 650 in the sub-bass department. The sub-bass is more articulate and punchier. There is better definition and 150S’ bass is more impactful. The 150S has a slightly bigger slam to it. I feel the bass quality of 150S is really good. Authoritative and punchy. Next, the 650 has slightly warm mids while 150S mids is transparent and clear. There is a slight emphasis on upper mids for the 150S. 650 still has more details in a different approach. Both are clinical in their own ways. Moving on, as 150S is a bright sounding earbud, its treble is more extended and crispy with no constraint at all. This is particularly good for pop music. In addition, I am surprised there is no sibilance & harshness. It reminds me a lot of my Campfire Audio Andromeda. For soundstage, 650 has better depth and on par with 150S on the width but I personally feel 150S is better for the width.
